At 27, Makaila Nichols is a best-selling author, national speaker, podcast host, TV personality, and founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Blatantly Honest Foundation—a mission-driven organization focused on ending the stigmas around bullying, body image, mental health, and more.
Makaila first shared her story in her acclaimed book, Blatantly Honest: Normal Teen, Abnormal Life, where she opens up about personal struggles with bullying, sexual assault, peer pressure, and self-image. To reach younger audiences, she also authored two impactful children’s coloring books: Buddies Don’t Bully and Every Body is Beautiful. Thanks to the support of generous sponsors across Central Florida, over thousands of coloring books have been donated across the state of Florida.
Her podcast, Blatantly Honest with Makaila Nichols, amplifies voices that matter—featuring celebrities, influencers, and experts sharing real stories that break down stigmas and inspire change.
Makaila travels nationwide to speak at schools and events, connecting directly with students on topics like mental health, bullying, sexual assault, body image, and suicide prevention. She also leads workshops and panels for parents, educators, and organizations to better equip them to support today’s youth.
Beyond her nonprofit work, Makaila owns a media group and serves as the host of two television shows airing on CBS and FOX affiliates, where she continues to use her platform to educate, entertain, and empower communities across the country.
